Custom-Engineered Materials We Manufacture
PTFE (Teflon™) – PolyTetraFlouroEthylene
PTFE is a low friction fluoropolymer with outstanding chemical and weathering resistance. The presence of fluorine provides even greater chemical resistance, especially to strong acids, and results in a low coefficient of friction, low moisture absorption and high electrical resistance.
Unfilled (Virgin) PTFE is often used for chemical resistant seals and gaskets. Virgin grade PTFE is used extensively for fluid handling systems in the semiconductor market, potable water, oxygen service, pharmaceutical and medical industries.
Filled PTFE
In addition to virgin PTFE, we offer a full range of filled PTFE materials including the following:
- Glass filled PTFE
- 25% glass filled PTFE
- 10% glass filled PTFE
- Bronze filled PTFE
- Graphite filled PTFE
- Carbon filled PTFE
- Polyimide filled PTFE
- Ceramic filled PTFE
PEEK™ – PolyEtherEtherKetone
PEEK™ is a high-performance engineered thermoplastic that excels in high temperature environments while maintaining high mechanical properties. PEEK™ has outstanding resistance to chemical, steam and hot water when used continuously without permanent loss in physical properties above 500°F. PEEK™ carries a UL 94-V0 flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame.
- Applications include aerospace, oil & gas, electrical components, medical and foodservice equipment
Delrin® / Acetal / POM – Polyoxymethylene
Acetal is a high strength, low friction material that has excellent wear properties in both wet and dry environments. Available as both a homopolymer and a copolymer, food and medical grades, and filled for improved characteristics. Acetals have very low moisture absorption and are notable for resisting organic solvents.
- Acetal has superior room temperature strength, stiffness, and toughness.
- Acetal is also available with fillers to enhance its physical properties.
- Applications include bearings, bushings, pump parts, food processing machinery, and electrical components
PCTFE – PolyChloroTriFlouroEthylene
PCTFE offers a unique combination of physical and mechanical properties: nonflammability, chemical and radiation resistance, extremely low outgassing, excellent electrical properties, and near zero moisture absorption all with an extensive temperature range of -460°F to +400°F.
- Applications include aerospace, cryogenic valve application, chemical processing, and laboratory instruments
UHMW / UHMWPE – Polyethylene
Polyethylene is a versatile a low cost, chemically resistant plastic material that can be used for a wide variety of applications. This material is available in several grades according to its molecular weight. UHMW is a variety of PE that is an extremely tough and abrasion resistant thermoplastic used for applications that require durability and/or abrasive wear resistance.
- Polyethylene applications include packaging and food service equipment
- UHMW-PE applications include conveyor & food processing machinery parts, valve & pump components
Nylon™ – Polyamide
Polyamide is a strong, stiff engineering plastic with outstanding bearing and wear properties. Standard polyamide offers superior strength and stiffness. It is commonly used for structural and general-purpose bearing and wear applications.
- Applications include bearings, bushings, gears, packaging and food processing machinery components, seals and gaskets, and rollers
Polyamide is available with fillers for improved wear properties according to the application.
Common fillers include glass for enhanced strength & stiffness and oil & MoS2 for improved wear.
Additional Engineered Plastics
- HDPE / PEHD – High-density polyethylene
- Rulon®
